‘This is us’! Sanderson comes alive with the greatest show

We really got our show on the road in 2019. There was a lot to celebrate… winning a major industry award as Haulier of the Year, exciting new partnerships with clients like Ducati, and extending our logistics and warehousing facilities to offer a complete end-to-end service for customers. And as April marks the beginning of a new year, we knew we had to push the boat out and reward our fantastic team with our best biennial weekend away yet.


The venue was the Devere Staverton Estate, where 150 staff and their partners gathered for a weekend of activities and celebration, as well as an opportunity to share in our vision for the future of Sanderson Transport.


For those who know their wormburners from their bogeys, Saturday morning tee’d off with a golf tournament that saw Lee Dodwell and Gary Hipwell take home joint trophies. A relaxed lunch and light entertainment followed, with a flutter on the Grand National providing an exciting diversion.


We brought in event superstars ‘Eventurous’ to transform the venue into a big top for a dazzling evening inspired by The Greatest Showman. After a champagne reception and introduction from Managing Director Stephen Sanderson, the theme was unveiled with jugglers, clowns, hula-hoopers and strongmen taking to the stage. Later, nine-piece band ‘Soul Junction’ got the party into full swing, inspiring some dubious but enthusiastic moves on the dancefloor (who said truckers ain’t got rhythm?!).


Five employees were honoured with landmark 25-year service awards: Andre Brewster, Barry Hubbard, Geoff Marlow, Clive Mason and Gareth Ramm – we’d like to thank them for sharing our journey and the part they have played in our success.
