Overview

We have job vacancy positions available at our new Sallow Road Depot for HGV Class 2 day drivers to join our team of skilled and talented drivers. This position would suit someone who takes pride in their work, has exemplary people skills and enjoys working individually and as part of a team to achieve common goals. You will be playing a key role in delivering a high-quality service to a variety of customers. We welcome applications from newly qualified as well as experienced drivers.

Key Duties

  • Collection and delivery of customer goods as instructed by the Traffic team
  • Achieve timely deliveries in line with companywide objectives
  • Develop positive working relationships with all key stakeholders
  • Ensure all delivering and receiving paperwork is signed by the customer as appropriate and returned to the Traffic Team for processing
  • Complete all internal paperwork required in line with company policies and procedures
  • Comply with health and safety legislations, safe systems of work and training requirements
  • To be an ambassador of the company when dealing with customers and peers alike

Requirements

  • A clean UK Class 2 driving license
  • Calm and professional manner
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Reliable and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to stay focused and work under pressure
  • Flexible
  • Good knowledge of UK Geography and the road network

Additional information

The position averages 50 hours per week Monday to Friday (with an hours unpaid meal break) start and finish times may vary depending on delivery demand and location, but you can expect a average 6:00 to 17:00 working schedule. We try to work with our drivers to get the best work/life balance.

You can expect to earn between £35,000 pa to £43,000 pa
