Sanderson opens new transport and distribution headquarters in Northamptonshire.

They say a lot can happen in a year. And 2022 was no exception. In a climate of unprecedented change, we were busy transforming our newly acquired site at Sallow Road in Corby, opening the doors in May 2022.

The new location is now the centre of our UK wide road transport and distribution operations. It represents the most significant period of growth in our company’s 50 year history, and an exciting investment in the future for Stephen Sanderson Transport, our employees and customers.

5½ acres of land, office and conference spaces have undergone a £1.8M re-development, providing parking for 50 trucks, and new state-of-the-art facilities. To stay ahead in a rapidly changing marketplace, the new transport headquarters ensures Stephen Sanderson Transport is well equipped to meet increased customer demands in palletised distribution and in particular food grade services.

The highlight is a new 40,000 square foot Cross Dock facility which has enabled us to expand our freight capacity whilst driving efficiencies, safety and high quality standards.

What we used to do outside in all weathers moves to a dry, controlled environment, with all the essential facilities to meet stringent BRC Global Standard AA accreditation. That involves excellence in delivering smooth, secure and quality logistics.

Visiting customers and staff alike have been wowed by our new haulage and distribution facility here in the Midlands. This is a significant moment in our journey that will help to drive our operational capabilities, increasing speed and control.

Part of the redevelopment saw the opening of the new George Lee Building, named after Stephen Sanderson’s grandfather who helped start the business back in 1973. It houses a business lounge and meeting spaces which we hope will also provide a facility for training and industry collaboration. Our people make Sanderson what it is, and investing to provide a well-equipped and positive working environment is a top priority, so with that in mind we’ve also created a gym and relaxation space for our employees within the new building. Ed continues;

We’re thrilled to open the doors on our new facility, and to invest in the regeneration of the area. We’re operating on an increased scale with the capacity and capability to help us deliver on our vision for the future.
