For the third year running, Stephen Sanderson Transport has maintained the top quality standard in food grade storage and distribution, achieving AA accreditation in the British Retail Consortium Global Standard (BRCGS).

2022 has been a year of change and progress at Sanderson, including the opening of our new centre of transport and distribution operations in the East Midlands. Here, we have invested in the latest state-of-the-art facilities including a new 40,000 square foot Cross Dock, to support us in upholding the highest standard in the distribution of ingredients, food, packaging and consumer products. Across all our sites, from our transport to our extensive food grade warehousing facilities, our BRC AA compliance demonstrates our commitment to safety, security and quality in logistics for the food industry.

While we’ve experienced growth and change, the world has also seen unprecedented change in the last year, with increases in supply chain disruption and complexity, demanding a new level of control and pin-point efficiency. Holding the BRCGS standard provides the reassurance our customers need, helping ensure the whole process meets precise benchmarks set by retailers when it comes to product quality, consistency and service level.

Having our own fleet of 80+ vehicles enables Sanderson Transport to offer a groupage operation across the UK, and means that we can handle complex supply chains for food packaging and product manufacturers, with complete accountability from point of source to point of delivery. Full traceability from product line to destination is essential.

Training of our people is perhaps the most critical factor in the process, minimising the risk of human error. All our team are HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) trained, ensuring the right BRC protocols and vehicle operating standards are followed at every point of interaction.

Our food safety management systems begin with a hazard and risk analysis, and ensure that we meet strict criteria when it comes to food storage and facility management, ID batch control, hygiene and allergen control, all supported by our Microlistics WMS.
