Giving back to the Leicestershire community that’s given so much.

The saying goes that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. It’s a great way to describe our community in Leicestershire. Whether it’s businesses, organisations, charities or individuals, when we join together, we make a bigger impact.

For Stephen Sanderson Transport, being part of that community and taking an active role is more than a duty, it’s part of who we are.

Since 1973, we’ve been on quite a journey of growth. As a family business, the people in Market Harborough supported us through that journey, and as a local employer, we’ve got to know many of the families and faces that make up our diverse and vibrant community. They say home is where the heart is, and despite expanding to other locations, our roots remain in Market Harborough. We’re privileged to support a community that’s given so much to us over the years.

Market Harborough Carnival

For as long as we can remember, we’ve been part of the action at the Market Harborough Carnival, where our trucks get a well-earned holiday to become the floats, and our drivers give their time to become volunteers. With live music, stalls and a 10K run, it’s an amazing fundraising day for local causes and charities and we’re thrilled to be involved again this year, which promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Supporting local sport

We love all sports here at Sandersons and over the years our support has extended to most of the town’s sports clubs at some point. Harborough Town Football Club, Market Harborough Rugby Club, Medbourne FC – they all have fantastic teams alongside thriving  youth programmes and community initiatives.

If it matters to you, it matters to us

When it comes to individual efforts, we’re behind our employees, partners and customers in any charity or fundraising initiatives close to their hearts.

Helping Guy raise funds for Keech Hospice

Our former customer and close associate Guy Barker (BWC Profiles) will be embarking on a 12-day charity bike ride on 20th May (LEJOG) from Lands End to John O’Groats in an effort to raise a significant £25,000 for the Keech Hospice. Keech looks after both Adults and Children who have life-limiting or terminal illnesses and we’re proud to be part of this effort.

Ed Sanderson continues “When Guy approached us a couple of months ago to discuss his idea and told us the story behind the LEJOG; we wanted to be involved from the start. The Keech Hospice is a fantastic organisation and being able to support this fundraising effort and the challenge that Guy and his friends have set is brilliant. Good Luck Guy!

Planting trees for a better future

When it comes to the environment, we take our responsibility in the community seriously. We’re constantly working on initiatives to reduce emissions, and to respect our local town and green spaces. Our founder Stephen Sanderson began his own mission to plant trees many years ago and it’s grown to become a symbol of our commitment.

The events of recent times have really brought home the importance of our community. Sanderson Transport is more than a business – we’re a group of local people, and giving back to the community of which we’re part is fundamental to our values.
