We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our second East Midlands warehousing site – right in the heart of Corby, Northamptonshire.
The new depot is an answer to the continued growth of our own business, and also to the growing demand for warehousing and distribution facilities all the way across the East Midlands area.
Work began on the three-acre site back in March 2016. We were up, running and fully operational by the end of the year. And even if we do say so ourselves, the result is a pretty impressive warehousing solution.
At 30,000 sq ft, the Corby warehouse greatly increases our warehousing capability up to 60,000 sq ft. It means we can offer new and existing customers a broader and more efficient service.
The new facility provides high bay racking, all the bulk storage you could need, and enough space to store up to 5,000 pallets. The huge site provides plenty of outside space too, for storing goods and for providing safe parking, both for our own vehicles and for our partners in Palletline and the Transport Association .
Of course the whole operation is also controlled by a state-of-the-art warehouse management system, and it’s staffed by a team to whom warehousing and distribution is second nature.
But as well as a shiny new facility, the new site in Corby is something else too. It’s a milestone in our history. Although just a short drive down the road from our first home in Market Harborough, our Corby depot is a testament to the continued hard work by the team at Sanderson Transport.
This year we’ve got big plans to expand further still – so watch this space.
